Phanatic

This was great! The bride-to-be came up with the awesome idea to surprise her husband-to-be with a Phanatic cake at their rehearsal dinner. He loved it! Believe it or not, the wait staff brought the "carcass" back out to the dining room after they served all the cake...

Birthday Cakes!!!!!!!!

Yep...Whatever theme birthday party you're planning, we can work together to come up with the perfect birthday cake!!!

Holiday Themes

I've been extra busy working on holiday orders so this poor blog has been neglected =(

To make it up, I'm posting a couple of pictures of some of the things I've been working on .....pies,cookies, yule logs, chocolate/caramel covered apples.

FYI, I plan on making cookies, pies, and other treats for all of the holidays that come up in the future (New Years, Easter, Independence Day). If you're hosting a party or if you just want to be the guest that brings the best treats, let me know!!

IT'S SNOWING (A LOT)!!!

It’s soooo cold out and it’s been snowing all day so I’m stuck inside. It’s a good thing I’m all done my Christmas shopping so I can spend all this time inside wrapping presents in between working on all of my holiday cookie orders (I’ll post pictures of them soon).

Anyway, here is a sweet sixteen cake that I had a lot of fun making. I think I love polka dots , stripes, and bows as much as my client says she does. This cake is soooo cute!

WEDDING CAKE!!!!

I got to do this cake for my friends that got married a little later in the Fall... They were planning on decorating the venue with lots of red so I recommended a white fondant cake with orange Lily flowers and edible red ribbon. They said they were both chocolate maniacs so I made chocolate pound cake with layers of chocolate butter cream and ganache.

By the way, I was watching "Cake Boss" on tv the other night and the guy was driving me nuts saying fon-DON-t. It's not fon-DON-t, it's fon-DIN-t! grrrrr...hehehe

"Let Them Eat Cake"

This past April I made a cake for the City of Hope "Let Them Eat Cake" wedding cake competition that featured a hand painted dragon and phoenix and gum paste flowers. It was a lot of hard work, but it was also a great experience that I will definitely participate in again. The link below goes to Chef Mark Tafoya's blog posting about the competition from his perspective as one of the judges of the competition. Check out the pictures that he posted as "...some the cakes which stood out visually"! :)

What I do...

If this blog is supposed to be about my cakes what good is it if there are no pictures?!

Here is a cake that I made for a 40th wedding anniversary. My client wanted a cake for her in-laws that would showcase their beautiful Indian culture. She really wanted mendi designs , so I suggested that a white butter cream cake with red mendi designs would be perfect.
